The Hertfordshire Girls League

Description

From the Hertfordshire FA website

The league is competitive but also continues to focus on the development of the players skills on and off the pitch but also looking at the overall game and working with coaches and spectators to enhance the environment of the beautiful game.

After the successful creation of the Herts Girls Football Partnership festivals in 2006/2007, the next step was to formalise and create a new provision in Hertfordshire to carry on the ethos and aim of the festivals that the clubs so badly needed.

This led onto the new Hertfordshire Girls Football Partnership League being formed and after months and years of hard work from volunteers within local clubs who shared a passion for the girls game and wanted to help drive the development of girls football forward, we now have a girls league in Hertfordshire to be proud of.

The age groups range from U8′s to U18s. The ethos is, be competitive but do not win at all costs, develop the girls through structured, competitive friendly games, encourage positive attitude from the touchline and educate all coaches and managers.

Standard of Football

2011-12 was the first season in the Hertfordshire league for HFC.  The league has grown rapidly since its inception and represents the girls league with the most teams at each age group which is within our immediate area.  The league has attracted many teams which are very well thought of in terms of their standard of football and professionalism.
