Sunday 27th October: Ruislip Rangers ‘A’ 2 Hampstead ‘A’ 2

Hampstead U10A managed to hold on for a lucky point in a 2-2 draw against Ruislip Rangers. Hampstead started well with some nice possession and took the lead when Luc shot in from the edge of the box after 4 minutes. Hampstead doubled their lead ten minutes later when a persevering run from Luc down the left paid off with the ball beating the goalie at the near post. With a 2-0 lead Hampstead relaxed and let their game become sloppy. Ruislip gained more possession and control and got one back following a fine solo effort. Although both sides had chances the score remained 1-2 at half time. Hampstead started the second half as unconvincingly as they had ended the first and never really recovered their passing game. Ruislip were allowed to take control and were eventually rewarded with an equaliser following a series of errors. Indeed, Ruislip finished much the stronger and were unlucky not to come out on top. A disappointing performance in the way we gave away possession much too easily and lacked creativity at times, but credit also to Ruislip for battling their way back into the game. POTM: Joe for some good saves in the first half and some determined defending at times in the second.
