Sunday 24th November: Hampstead ‘A’ 4 Bessingby Park Rangers ‘A’ 0

4.11.2013 Hampstead put in a solid effort to beat Bessingby Park this week. Both teams started brightly and Kyle pulled off a great one handed save early on. Hampstead soon got into the game and Alfie’s run down the right was finished neatly at the near post. 1-0. Hampstead had good chances with Luc, George and Jonathan all having opportunities in front of goal, and Luc and Alfie forcing the goalie into good saves. Jonathan Sol. put in some nice touches on the left and a great turn and cross but Hampstead couldn’t finish and it remained 1-0 at half time. Hampstead got a lucky break at the start of the second half when Luc distracted the goalkeeper and Alfie’s shot found the bottom corner. Bessingby kept going and Kyle had to pull off a great save one on one with the striker and Joe had a fine recovery run and sliding tackle when Bessingby were potentially through. Hampstead started to play better flowing football and Alfie and Sean were dangerous on the break. Luc finally got on the score sheet when he turned a defender in the box and slotted home with his left foot. Jay made it 4-0 with a strong shot following a good lay off from George. Finlay and Alfeie worked hard throughout, Jay was strong on the right side and had some good runs, and Eric’s distribution was excellent on the right. Better finishing next week I hope. POTM –Joe for solid defending and confident movement with the ball, but Jay and Jonathan Sol. were contenders and Alfie was strong in the middle. Happy Birthday Sean!
